English version: Terms of Use
App: Retro Repair Assistant (Retro-Reparatur-Assistent) · Status: 02.11.2026
Binding version: the German text is the legally binding version. This English version is provided for convenience and has the same content.
1. Scope and contracting party
These terms apply to the purchase and use of the app "Retro Repair Assistant" (R.R.A.). The contracting party and provider is René Balke, Hillerstr. 37, 50931 Köln (Cologne), Germany (e-mail: app@arcade-play.de).
The app is sold through Google Play (Android) and the Apple App Store. On the App Store, one purchase covers all Apple devices the store offers for this app (e.g. iPhone and iPad; Apple Watch and Mac where available). The respective store handles the purchase and payment. The Google Play Terms of Service or the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions (including the Licensed Application End User License Agreement, EULA) also apply.
These terms have the same content in all language versions. The German version is legally binding.
2. Subject matter
(1) The app is a digital product. It contains a knowledge base on repairing arcade machines, pinball machines, consoles and home computers, with articles, step-by-step guides, a component encyclopedia, device data, simulations and animations. The content is bundled with the app. The app works offline by default; no account is required.
(2) Optionally, and only on your explicit request, you can download language packs, colour themes and knowledge-base content updates and switch on a notice about new articles (Privacy Policy, section 5). These additional contents are included in the purchase price of the app. There is no entitlement to specific languages, colour themes or release dates. The translation quality of language packs is provided as described; your statutory defect rights for the app itself remain unaffected.
(3) Hidden mini games and seasonal animations are a free extra. They contain no advertising, no purchases and no links.
3. License
(1) You receive a simple, personal, non-transferable and non-sublicensable right to use the app on devices that belong to you or that you use, for your personal purposes. For App Store purchases, the usage rules of the Apple EULA (e.g. Family Sharing) also apply.
(2) All rights not expressly granted remain with the provider or the rights holders.
(3) You may not modify or reverse-engineer the app or circumvent its protection mechanisms, except where permitted by law (sections 69d, 69e of the German Copyright Act, UrhG).
4. Content and copyright
(1) The knowledge base consists of texts, graphics and animations. They are protected by copyright and belong to the author.
(2) You may read the content in the app and use it for your personal purposes.
(3) The knowledge base may not be extracted, copied, published, redistributed or made available to third parties, including in part. The right to quote under section 51 UrhG remains unaffected.
(4) Paragraph 3 applies to language packs, colour themes and content updates accordingly. Language packs may contain machine-assisted translations, which may contain errors or omissions.
5. Answers of the assistant and device data
(1) The assistant compiles its answers automatically on your device from the bundled knowledge base. Your questions are not sent to us or to AI services for this purpose (Privacy Policy, section 12). The content of the knowledge base was created with care and has partly been prepared with the help of AI.
(2) Despite this care, an automatically compiled answer may be unsuitable, incomplete or wrong for your device or device revision. Measured values, pinouts, component values and device data are guide values. If in doubt, check them against the schematic, data sheet or a measurement before you replace parts or apply power.
(3) The answers are troubleshooting hints and do not promise a successful repair. Your statutory defect rights (section 8) and our liability (section 11) remain unaffected.
6. Contact form, archive and replies
(1) You can send us messages via the "About" area. Using it is voluntary. There is no entitlement to a reply or to a specific response time; we handle defect reports under section 8.
(2) Replies may be prepared with the help of an AI assistant. Every reply is checked and released by us (Privacy Policy, section 6). Replies are non-binding hints, not binding expert advice.
(3) Please do not send unlawful or offensive content, other people's personal data or sensitive personal information. We may delete messages that break these rules without replying.
(4) Sent messages and replies are stored in the archive on your device only. If you clear the archive or reinstall the app, earlier replies cannot be restored.
7. Trademarks, names and links
(1) Device names, game titles, and manufacturer and brand names are used only to identify devices and repair topics or to indicate compatibility. The app has no connection with the manufacturers or rights holders and is neither authorised nor sponsored by them. All trademarks are the property of their respective owners.
(2) The app contains links to third-party websites. They open in your browser only when you tap them. The respective provider is responsible for their content; their terms and privacy policy apply there.
8. Defects, warranty and updates
(1) Your statutory defect rights for digital products (sections 327 ff. German Civil Code, BGB) remain unaffected. Please report defects to app@arcade-play.de or via the contact form. We will then restore the contractual condition.
(2) We provide the updates needed to keep the app in conformity with the contract, in particular bug fixes, adjustments to new operating system versions and security updates (section 327f BGB). This obligation applies for at least 2 years from purchase, or for a longer period that you can reasonably expect given the nature of the product. Content updates to the knowledge base are provided free of charge as part of this obligation. App updates are delivered only via Google Play or the Apple App Store.
(3) The provider alone, not Google or Apple, is responsible for maintenance and support of the app.
9. Withdrawal and refunds
(1) Refunds for purchases follow the refund rules of Google Play or Apple. Beyond that, the provider does not give its own return or refund promises.
(2) Consumers have a statutory right of withdrawal. For digital content it expires once the download has begun with your express consent and you have acknowledged that you thereby lose your right of withdrawal (section 356(5) BGB). This acknowledgement is requested in the purchase flow on Google Play or in the Apple App Store.
10. Repair safety information
This section contains safety information. It does not limit your statutory rights or our liability.
(1) Mains voltage: Devices connected to mains carry a risk of fatal injury from 230 volts. Unplug the device before every intervention. Capacitors can hold a dangerous charge even after switching off.
(2) High voltage: CRT displays and televisions contain high voltage of several thousand volts. It can remain stored after switching off and unplugging. Work on CRTs only with expert knowledge and suitable equipment.
(3) Soldering, chemicals and batteries: Soldering produces hot parts and fumes; ensure ventilation. Use cleaning and bleaching agents (e.g. isopropyl alcohol, hydrogen peroxide for "Retrobright") and UV light only according to the manufacturer's instructions, with safety glasses and gloves. Do not touch leaked backup batteries or rechargeable cells with bare hands and dispose of them properly.
(4) The notes in the app do not replace expert advice. When in doubt, have the work carried out by a qualified repair service. Do not operate the app (including on a watch) while working on a live device.
11. Liability
(1) We are liable without limitation for damage resulting from injury to life, body or health, and for damage caused by intent or gross negligence.
(2) Liability under the German Product Liability Act (Produkthaftungsgesetz) remains unaffected.
(3) For slight negligence, we are liable only for breach of essential contractual obligations (cardinal obligations). In that case liability is limited to the foreseeable damage typically occurring.
(4) Otherwise, liability is excluded to the extent permitted by law. Mandatory statutory provisions, in particular consumers' defect rights, remain unaffected.
12. Privacy
Information on the processing of personal data can be found in the Privacy Policy (in the app under "About" and on arcade-play.de).
13. Sponsor notices (reserved for a later version)
(1) We reserve the right to show notices from sponsors ("sponsor notices") in a later version of the app. The valid reason within the meaning of section 327r(1) BGB is to finance free content updates, language packs and further development of the app beyond the purchase price.
(2) Sponsor notices are a fixed part of the app or of a content update and are shown without an internet connection. No advertising content is loaded from the internet, no ad networks are included, and no data about you or your use is sent to sponsors or other third parties.
(3) Sponsor notices are clearly labelled "Sponsored". They do not interrupt your use (no full-screen, video or audio ads, no notifications) and never appear in safety warnings or within step-by-step guides. The repair content remains editorially independent; sponsors have no influence on answers and articles.
(4) A link in a sponsor notice opens the sponsor's website only when you tap it, in your browser. The sponsor's terms and privacy policy apply there.
(5) This does not cause any additional costs for you. Before introducing sponsor notices, we will inform you clearly and comprehensibly in the app and in the release notes. Your statutory rights, in particular under section 327r(3) BGB, remain unaffected.
14. Changes to these terms
(1) Your purchase is governed by the version valid at the time of purchase. The app shows the current version under "About"; the date at the top shows its status.
(2) New versions apply to you only insofar as they concern new, additional features or you agree to them. Changes to the app itself are governed by section 327r BGB (see section 13). A new version does not restrict your existing rights.
15. Governing law, place of performance, jurisdiction and dispute resolution
(1) The law of the Federal Republic of Germany applies, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods (CISG).
(2) For consumers, this choice of law applies only insofar as it does not deprive them of the protection afforded by mandatory provisions of the country in which they have their habitual residence (Art. 6(2) Rome I Regulation). This also applies if they live outside the EU.
(3) The place of performance is the provider's registered seat, 50931 Köln (Cologne), Germany.
(4) For merchants, legal entities under public law, special funds under public law, and persons without a general place of jurisdiction in Germany or the EU, the place of jurisdiction is the provider's registered seat. For consumers, the statutory jurisdiction rules remain unaffected.
(5) We are neither willing nor obliged to take part in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board (section 36 of the German Consumer Dispute Resolution Act, VSBG).
(6) If any provision of these terms is invalid, the remaining provisions remain valid. The statutory provision replaces the invalid one (section 306(2) BGB).

(2) Measuring and soldering: Measure resistors and capacitors only with the power off, ideally desoldered. Soldering produces hot parts and fumes; ensure ventilation.
(3) The hints in the app do not replace an expert assessment. When in doubt, have the work carried out by a qualified repair service.
Mandatory statutory provisions, in particular consumer rights, remain unaffected.
10. Privacy
Information on the processing of personal data can be found in the Privacy Policy (in the app and on arcade-play.de).
11. Changes to these terms
(1) We adapt these terms when the app or the legal situation changes. The app shows the current version; the date at the top shows its status.
(2) A new version does not restrict your existing rights. It applies to you from the time you install a version of the app that contains it.

App: RRA Cap Tracker · Status: 02.11.2026
Binding version: the German text is the legally binding version. This English version is provided for convenience and has the same content.
1. Scope and provider
These terms apply to the use of the app "RRA Cap Tracker". The provider is René Balke, Hillerstr. 37, 50931 Köln (Cologne), Germany, e-mail: app@arcade-play.de.
The app is offered free of charge through Google Play (Android) and the Apple App Store (iOS/iPadOS). The respective store handles download and updates. The Google Play Terms of Service or the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions (including the Licensed Application End User License Agreement, EULA) also apply.
These terms have the same content in all language versions. The German version is legally binding.

It works fully offline and has no internet access; no account is required. There is no entitlement to specific features, languages or release dates.
(2) The shopping list is a reminder only. The app sells nothing and does not broker purchases; you conclude contracts for parts directly with the respective dealer.
3. License
(1) You receive a simple, personal, non-transferable and non-sublicensable right to use the app on devices that belong to you or that you use, for your personal purposes. For App Store downloads, the usage rules of the Apple EULA also apply.
(2) All rights not expressly granted remain with the provider or the rights holders.
(3) You may not modify or reverse-engineer the app or circumvent its protection mechanisms, except where permitted by law (sections 69d, 69e of the German Copyright Act, UrhG).
4. Content and copyright
(1) The texts, graphics and design of the app are protected by copyright. You may use the app for your personal purposes.
(2) The content of the app may not be extracted, copied, published, redistributed or made available to third parties, including in part. The right to quote under section 51 UrhG remains unaffected. You may freely use your own entries and texts you copy yourself (e.g. logs, lists).
(3) The app uses fonts under the SIL Open Font License (the license texts are included with the app).
5. Trademarks, names and links
(1) Manufacturer and brand names are used only to identify components and devices. The app has no connection with the manufacturers or rights holders and is neither authorised nor sponsored by them. All trademarks are the property of their respective owners.
(2) The app contains notes on further apps ("More apps"). These links open in your browser or the store only when you tap them. The respective provider is responsible for third-party content; their terms and privacy policy apply there.
6. Results without guarantee
(1) The automatic replacement suggestion (same µF, voltage at least equal, 105 °C) is a hint, not a guarantee. Check the package, lead spacing, polarity and data sheet.
(2) The content of the app was created with care and has partly been prepared with the help of AI. It may contain errors. Your statutory rights (section 7) and our liability (section 9) remain unaffected.
7. Defects, updates and support
(1) Please report defects to app@arcade-play.de. We endeavour to provide bug fixes and adjustments to new operating system versions; for this free app, there is no further entitlement to updates except as provided by law. Your statutory rights remain unaffected.
(2) Updates are delivered only via Google Play or the Apple App Store.
(3) The provider alone, not Google or Apple, is responsible for maintenance and support of the app.
8. Safety information
This section contains safety information. It does not limit your statutory rights or our liability.

This section contains safety information. It does not limit your statutory rights or our liability.
(1) Extra-low voltage only: The app is intended for power-supply outputs (+5 V, +12 V, −5 V, +3.3 V, 5 V standby), not for mains voltage.
(2) Power supplies: Never open a power supply while it is connected to mains. The primary side and large electrolytic capacitors carry lethal voltage, even after switching off.
(3) Measuring: Use an intact measuring instrument suitable for the purpose, with insulated probes. Avoid short circuits between adjacent contacts; a slipping probe can destroy components.
(4) The hints in the app do not replace an expert assessment. When in doubt, have the work carried out by a qualified repair service.
9. Liability
